What do you turn to when the days have been long and the nights even longer? When you’re still awake to witness the light reaching the sky in the morning after gazing at the stars throughout the night? When the exhaustion is overwhelming? What is your pick-me-up?

For me, it’s flowers. And coffee… When my absolute favourite – the peony rose – isn’t in season, I have a few others that I keep an eye out for at the local florist, like stunning ranunculus. I love the way the petals are layers upon layers, the way the stems seem to sigh under the weight of the flowers themselves and the colours perfect for brightening up the day.

Today is one of those days and I’m incredibly thankful to have a bunch of ranunculus on the table to lift my tired spirit.

These are beautiful photos of beautiful flowers lovely. Ranunculus are special to me as they were my much loved Grandpa’s favourites and he insisted Bako grow them in the garden every year. My only go to is escaping in a good book for a little moment or two if I can. x

These photos are the next best thing to the real deal Nat <3

I spent half my childhood on a Protea farm, so blushing bride, silvan pinks, nerafolia's, grandafolia, queens and kings always make me smile – can't go passed a good field of daffodils either 🙂
